Malang, July 20, 2025 – The Chinese Literature Study Program (PS Sastra Cina) reaffirmed its commitment to maintaining educational quality and relevance through the implementation of a Field Assessment (Asesmen Lapangan/AL) for accreditation by BAN-PT, held on Friday, June 20, 2025. The assessment took place at Building A of the Faculty of Cultural Studies (FIB), Universitas Brawijaya (UB), with two assessors from BAN-PT in attendance: Meta Sekar Puji Astuti, S.S., M.A., Ph.D. from Hasanuddin University, and Dr. Herniwati, S.Pd., M.Hum. from Indonesia University of Education (UPI). They were warmly welcomed by the FIB UB leadership, lecturers, students, academic staff, alumni, and stakeholders of the Chinese Literature program.

The Field Assessment aimed to verify and validate the data and information presented in the accreditation document (borang). In addition, the assessment served to evaluate and explore the study program’s potential in meeting both national and international standards of higher education quality.

The series of activities began with the screening of a teaser video Welcoming the Panels, followed by remarks from UB Vice-Rector IV for Planning, Cooperation, and Internationalization, Prof. Andi Kurniawan, S.Pi., M.Eng., D.Sc., and the introduction of the panel of assessors. The event continued with the signing of the field assessment declaration by the Dean of FIB UB, the Head of the Chinese Literature Study Program, and both assessors, witnessed by the faculty and university leadership.

The core of the assessment included several key sessions: (1) verification by the leadership of the Academic Executive Unit (UPPS) on governance systems, management, and institutional achievements, (2) verification of the Self-Evaluation Report (LED) and Study Program Performance Report (LKPS) by the accreditation team, (3) discussions with the implementers of the Internal Quality Assurance System (SPMI), lecturers, and academic staff (4) discussion session between the assessors and students, alumni, and stakeholders.

The assessment concluded with the delivery of feedback and recommendations by the assessors, followed by the signing of the assessment report. Through the successful implementation of this agenda, the Chinese Literature Study Program at FIB UB has demonstrated its readiness and dedication in preparing documentation and executing the assessment process effectively. Furthermore, the program has shown openness to constructive feedback as part of its ongoing efforts to enhance quality in alignment with national standards of excellence.
