On Monday (30/09/2024), the Faculty of Cultural Sciences of Universitas Brawijaya organized a book review of an anthology of short stories (short stories) packaged under the title ‘Pengantin Singa’ by Fadhilatin Nazilah, a Chinese Literature student class of 2020. This is her second book after contributing writing to a poetry anthology and her first solo book.

The book consists of 5 short stories, namely: Chinese Bride, Murphy, Kisah Gadis Wanua, Bulan si Majapahit, and Kedai Kopi with 112 pages in total. According to the book reviewer, Sinta Fadilah, this book is more of a simple fantasy but rich in Chinese and Javanese culture. The short stories are inspired by Chinese and South Korean fantasy stories. The cover is based on the origin of Chinese New Year, which is all red with a lion demon character in it.

The work of the student who is familiarly called Lala was successfully converted into a substitute for the Final Project (TA). Starting from a hobby that has been pursued since elementary school, until finally, it can produce written works that can be widely read by the public.

“This book is the girl’s version of the story, next I will write the boy’s version, if possible it will be a trilogy story,” Fadhila hoped at the end of the book review session.

This proud achievement can certainly be achieved because of the practice and hard work of the author. Hopefully, this student’s achievement can arouse enthusiasm as well as motivate students of the Chinese Literature Study Program FIB UB so that in the future they continue to achieve and work.
