The Merdeka Belajar Kampus Merdeka (MBKM) program provides opportunities for students throughout Indonesia to get an education from off campus. One of them is the study exchange program which is carried out in collaboration with universities at home and abroad. Three students of Brawijaya University’s Faculty of Cultural Sciences Chinese Literature Study Program have successfully studied at one of the universities in China, namely Changzhou Institute of Technology (常州工学院) which began on September 1, 2023 to July 12, 2024. This program was carried out with the support of the scholarship program of Sands Talk Indonesia LLC and Changzhou Institute of Technology. The following are the names of the students participating in the study exchange program at Changzhou Institute of Technology:

Muhammad Rizky Ramadhan 215110400111012 Changzhou Institute of Technology

This study exchange program is carried out by joining the system with local students, not international students, which certainly hones the participants’ communication skills more effectively. The courses taken include Mandarin, as well as several additional courses such as marketing, film, computers, and communication. This program provides many benefits for participants, such as a learning experience in China and the opportunity to witness Chinese culture firsthand. The establishment of cross-cultural friendships during the learning process is also one of the valuable things gained from this program.

Hopefully, the success of the MBKM study exchange program can be beneficial to students’ careers and ignite the enthusiasm of other Chinese Literature Study Program students to continue to excel. It is hoped that the Chinese Literature Study Program can expand its network of cooperation with universities at home and abroad so that the opportunities for students to explore education will also be wider.
