The Summer Camp program organized by the Confucius Institute offers opportunities to learn Mandarin and explore Chinese culture. In 2024, the program was held at Huazhong University of Science and Technology in Wuhan, China, from June 20 to July 5. Two students from the Chinese Literature Study Program at Brawijaya University’s Faculty of Cultural Sciences (FIB UB) had the opportunity to participate, alongside 25 other participants from various countries. Below are the names of the two Summer Camp participants:
Name | Student Number |
Aqeela Putri Fauzi | 225110407111034 |
Davida Diandra Sacalaros | 225110407111038 |

The two-week Summer Camp in Wuhan was filled with engaging and meaningful activities, including visits to museums and historical sites in Wuhan, as well as opportunities to better understand Chinese culture. Of course, learning Mandarin was also a key part of the program. During these two weeks, the two Chinese Literature students built intercultural friendships with participants from around the world. One of the participants, Davida Diandra Sacalaros, expressed her hope that fellow Chinese Literature students would also have the chance to explore the world and learn new things from different cultures.
It is hoped that the experiences of these two Chinese Literature students will inspire others in the Chinese Literature Study Program at FIB UB to participate in similar programs and continue learning new things.
