Malang, September 25, 2023 – The Chinese Literature Study Program at the Faculty of Cultural Studies (FIB UB) warmly welcomed the arrival of native Mandarin-speaking lecturers to enhance the quality of learning through direct communication experiences with native speakers. This initiative is part of a collaborative program between the Chinese Literature Study Program of FIB UB and two prestigious Chinese universities: Guangxi Normal University (广西师范大学) and Sichuan International Studies University (四川外国语大学). A total of five native speaker lecturers were successfully invited to participate in this program, as listed below:

The welcoming event was attended by approximately 88 students from the Chinese Literature Study Program, ranging from the class of 2020 to 2023, along with the five native speaker lecturers. The event aimed to:

  1. Welcome the arrival of the native speaker lecturers;
  2. Provide students with opportunities to build relationships with native Chinese lecturers;
  3. Serve as a platform for deepening students’ knowledge; and
  4. Increase students’ interest in academic and non-academic competitions related to Chinese language, literature, and culture.

Held in the hall of Building A at the Faculty of Cultural Studies, Universitas Brawijaya, the event featured several activities, including:

  • Opening and welcoming speeches;
  • A Jejer dance performance to introduce Indonesian culture to the guest lecturers;
  • A talk show led by the native speaker lecturers, focusing on Chinese language, literature, and culture, followed by a Q&A session; 
  • Closing and a friendly discussion to conclude the event.

This welcoming event not only strengthened the bond between students and lecturers but also fostered a deeper appreciation for the Chinese language and culture among the participants.
