Malang, February 6, 2024 – The Chinese Literature Study Program of Brawijaya University’s Faculty of Cultural Studies (FIB UB) received a visit from one of the honored university professors, Prof. Dr. Hardy Yong Xiang from Peking University. Previously on February 4, Prof. Dr. Hardy Yong Xiang held a guest lecture at the Faculty of Cultural Sciences, Universitas Brawijaya entitled “Locality and Asianness: The Current Situation and Development Prospects of Cultural Industry Cooperation Between China and Indonesia”. The arrival of the Dean of the Institute for Cultural Industries Peking University and his team was to develop the Indonesian Chinese cultural industry.

Prof. Hardy and the delegation from Peking University stopped by Malang for several days to get to know Indonesian culture and to succeed in the cooperation program with FIB UB. While the delegation from Peking University was in Malang, they visited various places that store Indonesian culture in Malang. One of Malang’s news media, malangraya.pikiran-rakyat.com covered their activities during their visit in Malang completely and interestingly.
 
Prof. Hardy’s visit to FIB UB’s Chinese Literature Study Program was also an effort to strengthen the cooperation relationship between Peking University and FIB UB. During his short visit, Prof. Hardy had the opportunity to see the atmosphere of the Chinese Literature Study Program room, accompanied by the Head of the Chinese Literature Study Program, Widya Catherine Perdhani, S.Pd., M.Pd., who also introduced the study program. Through this visit, it is hoped that the cooperation between the Faculty of Cultural Sciences of Universitas Brawijaya (FIB UB) and Peking University can further develop, especially in supporting the cultural industry between Indonesia and China.
