Wednesday, February 5, 2025 – Encouraging news came from a student whose name is familiar to loyal readers of the Chinese Literature Study Program website of Brawijaya University’s Faculty of Culture Studies (FIB UB). Theodora Putri Aleni Tarigan made another non-academic achievement. Like flowing water, the talent of this student seems inexhaustible. Last February 5, the student familiarly called Thea won second place in the creative video category in the Japanese language competition “Hikari Champion 2025.” Hikari Champion is a Japanese language skills competition organized by the Japanese Literature Student Association of Dian Nuswantoro University every year.
Thea’s interest in anime and Japan since she was in junior high school was one of the things that played a role in Thea’s victory. The 1-minute video that became a memento of victory was packaged so well that it won 2nd place in the creative video category in the Hikari Champion 2025 event. Supported by Thea’s familiarity with Japanese which makes her have good pronunciation and videography skills that are no less good.
Theodora’s achievement this time is expected to pump up the courage of other Chinese Literature Study Program students to explore hidden talents within themselves and hone them to improve individual quality.
