Chinese Literature Study Program Explored Cooperation Possibility with Peking University and Tsinghua University through Dosen Berkarya (DOKAR) Programme

With the aims to internationalize, Chinese Literature study programme have been conducting several academic cooperations with universities in China, including Guangxi Normal University, Tianjin Foreign Studies University, Changzhou Institute of Technology, and Sichuan International Studies University. This cooperation includes sending students from Universitas Brawijaya to continue their studies abroad, providing opportunities for attaining a double degree, taking short courses, and attending summer camps and/or winter camps. 

The cooperation also includes joint research projects between Universitas Brawijaya’s Chinese Literature study programme and partner university lecturers. Furthermore, on November 19th, 2023, five lecturers from Chinese Literature study programme have carried out the Dosen Berkarya (DOKAR) programme, headed by the Dean of Faculty of Cultural Studies, Hamamah, M.Pd., Ph.D to go to Beijing, China, exploring cooperation possibilities with Peking University and Tsinghua University.

The lecturers were warmly welcomed by the Director of the Mandarin Department Professor Du Xiaoqin, Vice Director of the Chinese Department Professor Cheng Sudong, and the Foreign Secretary of the Chinese Department Professor Jiang Bing. During the meeting, an agreement to do a collaboration in writing teaching materials and sending talented students to study Chinese language and culture in a summer camp programme at Peking University was reached.

At the visit to Tsinghua University, the lecturers were greeted by the Secretary Committee of the School of Humanities, Professor Ma Yinqin, Associate Dean for Teaching and Learning, Professor Gu Tao, Head of the Department of Chinese Language and Literature Professor Zhou Xuanlong, Deputy Head of the Department of Chinese Language and Literature Professor Jia Liyuan, and the Teaching Secretary of the Department of Chinese Language and Literature, Mi Ying. During the visit, the team from the Chinese Literature study programme discussed and obtained the knowledge on the initial step to open and establish a Digital Humanities Center from Tsinghua University.
