This course provides knowledge, understanding, and mastery in appropriate advanced reading techniques and concepts. This course is a continuation course from intermediate reading II. Upon completing this course, students are expected to be able to read and understand general ideas, identify basic information, and find specific information needed in paragraphs with predetermined topics. The material provided is in the form of reading text including several themes. The themes are Chinese idiom stories, romance stories, life’s feelings and thoughts as well as economy and society. The teaching method employed in this course is project-base lectures. In this course, assessments include attendance, class participation, project, tasks, quizzes, Midterm Exam, and Final Exam. Upon completing this course, students are expected to be able to know, understand, master, and practice how to read texts, which is in accordance with the materials, as well as able to retell and make summaries of reading texts.
