Students of the Chinese Literature Program have the opportunity to explore China through a Summer Camp program, offering a chance to not only learn the language, but also explore more into the world of e-commerce and Chinese culture directly. The program combines language learning with e-commerce-like practices and exciting cultural activities.

Participants not only learn how to enter products into e-commerce catalogs, but also get training on live streaming techniques that are increasingly popular in the world of online commerce. In addition, they also engaged in distinctive cultural activities, including trying on Guanxi traditional clothes. “We visited a place in Nanning specifically for photos in traditional clothes. The experience was fascinating,” said Caroline Ijaya, one of the program participants.

Another engaging activity was DIY hand fan making. Participants learned about the different types of fans and their shapes as well as the technique of making the typical red Chinese amulet hangers. In addition, they were also taught traditional medical massage techniques and Taichi movements for health.

The cultural experience did not stop there. The participants also visited a museum featuring a collection of ancient stones and historical artifacts. These museums offer an in-depth look at life in the past, including war strategies and antiques from the royal era. Some museums even have underground areas that were once used for defense or shelter.

The program not only provides a deeper understanding of Chinese language and culture but also opens participants’ minds to e-commerce practices in the global market. In addition, the hands-on experience with various aspects of culture and history provides added value for those interested in exploring China’s cultural diversity in depth.
